v ПРЕДИСЛОВИЕ Предлагаемый вниманию читателей «Англо-русский словарь идиом и устойчивых словосочетаний в языке современной прессы (по социально-экономическим и международным проблемам)» составлен в результате многолетней работы с материалами таких периодических изданий, как “Forbes Global”, “Fortune”, “The Economist”, “Time (Europe’s Newsmagazine)”, “Harvard Business Review”, “Management Today”, “The Financial Times”, “USA Today”, “International Herald Tribune”, “Newsweek”, “The Wall Street Journal. Europe.”, “London Life”, “US News & World Report”, “Reader’s Digest”, “Scientific American”, “The Observer”, “The Washington Post”. Словарь имеет практическую направленность и окажет существенную помощь читателю англо- язычных СМИ, в которых в больших количествах присутствуют идиоматические выражения. Помимо периодических изданий, которые послужили основным источником приводимых в данном словаре примеров, был использован целый ряд монографических изданий как научной, так и общеоб- разовательной направленности.
