Введение 

Ввиду постоянного расширения международных контактов, все 

настойчивее отмечается целесообразность развития межкультурной 
компетенции, в нашем случае – коммуникации студентов на занятиях 
по английскому языку. Поскольку при изучении иностранного языка 
важно не только правильно понимать, что говорится, но еще и владеть речевыми приемами, столь привычными для носителей языка, 
знать особенности их менталитета, свойственный только этой стране 
тайм-менеджмент и значения устойчивых словосочетаний (идиом) 
для преодоления межкультурных барьеров. 

Идиомы, или фразеологические сращения, существуют в любом 

языке. Английский язык не является исключением. Идиома – это 
свойственное только данному языку устойчивое словосочетание, значение которого не определяется значением входящих в него слов, 
взятых по отдельности. Из-за того, что идиому невозможно перевести 
дословно (теряется смысл), часто возникают трудности перевода и 
понимания. С другой стороны, такие фразеологизмы придают языку 
яркую эмоциональную окраску. 

Часто грамматическое значение идиом не отвечает нормам со
временного языка, а является грамматическим архаизмом. Пример 
таких выражений в русском языке: «остаться с носом», «бить баклуши», «дать сдачи», «дурака валять» и т. п. 

Данное пособие состоит из двух разделов. Первый посвящен 

идиомам в английской ментальности, а второй – межкультурной 
коммуникации.

лексико
грамматические навыки иноязычной речи. 

Пособие поможет студентам II-III курсов языковых специально
стей помимо регулярного пополнения словарного запаса еще и самым 
серьезным образом обогатить английскую речь устойчивыми словосочетаниями – идиомами изучаемого языка.

Предлагаемое пособие акцентирует внимание студентов на 
наиболее употребительных английских идиомах с примерами и заданиями на английском языке, что будет служить опорой для лучшего 
понимания выражений, встречающихся при чтении неадаптированной литературы, аутентичных материалов при просмотре недублированных фильмов, прослушивании музыки и аудиокниг на английском 
языке. 

Одной из задач второго раздела учебного пособия является раз
витие межкультурной компетенции, формирование умений, позволяющих преодолевать сбои и различные паузы в общении с носителями 
иных культур. В основу второго раздела положены аутентичные англоязычные источники, отражающие современное языковое сознание 
носителей языка. 

Практическое применение иностранного языка в условиях межкультурной коммуникации – основная задача, которая ставится перед 
преподавателями иностранного факультета вуза на современном этапе и отражена в требованиях федеральных образовательных стандартов высшего профессионального образования нового поколения. 
В условиях непосредственных деловых иноязычных контактов 
умение общаться на иностранном языке, особенно в устной форме, 
тем более спонтанно, становится необходимым условием образованного современного специалиста и является одним из важнейших элементов, определяющих ценность. 

В этой связи межкультурная коммуникация – это одно из акту
альных направлений поликультурного образования студентов средствами родного и иностранного языков.
